The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says it’s willing to step into the ongoing battle between Lance Armstrong and WADA’s Dick Pound.
In a letter Armstrong wrote to the IOC’s Jacques Rogge, he asked for Pound to be removed from his post as the head of WADA for what the Tour champ says were violations of IOC rules. The IOC says it’s “not directly a party” to the dispute, but “if it can help facilitate that the parties could agree to an independent inquiry, it would be willing to do so.”
I don’t think Lance was really going to go quietly into retirement, but I also don’t think he wanted to spend his time doing this.
